the wind is howling ~

so once again it feels like my house is going to blow away. right now there's a pretty good storm going on outside, nothing was said about any typhoons coming, but man the winds are crazy strong today! and there lightning and thunder going on too! so right now i'm relaxing in my toasty living room thanks to my kerosene heater, watching movies, and intermittently worrying whether my house will stay put :-P heee ...

i've discovered the joys of my oven. i have a decent size oven, that most people don't have. i made a chocolate cake on saturday that was yummy and made a tuna casserole tonight that was decent. wasn't my mom's because i didn't have all the ingredients and didnt want to venture out into the storm. but it turned out ok ... i'll just have leftovers for the next few nights because it's impossible to make a casserole for one! oye ~

other good news, i was able to get a half day off today. all the teachers had to go to goshogawara for some meeting around lunch time, so i went home for a few minutes then figured i should go to the board of education and do some work. went there and only kobayashi-san (the secretary lady) was there and she said i could go home because no one else would be in today. sweet!! meant to get loads of errands done, but ended up laying down in front of the tv and sleeping most of the afternoon. guess i needed to catch up on my sleep! and tomorrow might turn out the same way! keeping my fingers crossed!

oh yeah, so if anyone feels like sending a care package and has the time ... i would love some new movies! i recorded about 12 movies before coming out here and i swear i've gone through all of them about 5 times now, some even more than that! and im feeling like i need some new movies to veg out in front of . im not talking new new movies, just some maybe u could record off the tele! and as much as i hate to admit it, im a sucker for chick flicks ... heheheh.
