now on to japan news ...
monday was great at the elementary school ... i love the kids there, they are so cool! one 1st grader came up to me and said "whats cooking?" and i just laughed, i guess its on a tv commercial here ... so cute!
tuesday morning (at 1:30) there was an earthquake that woke me from a very strange dream, so the rest of the day i didnt know if there was actually an earthquake or i dreamt my house was being shaken by something freaky! had to go into the board of education because my other schools had the day off since they had to go to school on saturday on sunday. many of the other alts in the area also had a day or two off, so i was hoping to milk out a day or two when i went into the office oh so discretely ... and this is how it went down.
supervisor: hi allison, how are u? allison: oh im tired, i went to school on saturday and sunday for the school festivals. s: oh, how was it? a: it was interesting and fun ...
then he walked away and all hopes of having the day off were crushed. 20 minutes later he came back and was like s: wait, u went to school on saturday and sunday? a: yes. s: from morning till evening? a: yes. s: oh, u should go home because next week will be rough. u can have tomorrow off as well because u went for 2 days.
thank you mr. moriyama!!!! i so needed it. so i went home and drove around to look at the pretty changing leaves. also came across a port town that was beautiful! the ocean smell really made me miss california and i realized that living by the beach would really be awesome! after more exploring, i headed down to hirosaki with becky to have dinner with some of the teachers at my school. we had sushi and it was soooooooooo good!!!!!!! and, they didnt make us pay! crazy huh? we're going to an onsen later this month ... yay, they are fun ... found cool japanese people that i really feel like i can communicate with!
today was spent cleaning house and getting stuff done ... still have more to do though :P
