yahoo for cameras!

yes people, i have finally entered the world of digital cameras!! bought a very cute (u know how important that is!) konica minolta camera. it has 5 mega pixels, huge display screen, and it's red!! and best of all, it takes really great pictures!! i can zoom in on the picture itself and it never gets blurry, just really nice and clear! and the guy i bought it from was really nice (and cute) and was from aomori! cool eh?

so, my trip to tokyo was good but short! went to hirosaki on friday and got on the bus at 10pm. surprisingly, the seats on the bus were quite spacious and i could recline my sight a good way down. made sure i brought a pillow with me, so i was able to get some pretty decent sleep until we arrived in tokyo at 7 am in the morning. it was raining when i arrived (edge of the typhoon was there) and man was it crazy being in tokyo coming from aomori! aomori is all countryside, even the big cities are relatively small. but tokyo, man, tokyo is huge!! incredibly overwhelming!! but luckily i was fine due to the excellent directions my friend gave me and the fact that id already been to tokyo so i knew what to expect.

anyways, headed to suhjins in the morning to rest then met up with yumi in the afternoon to go to the headquarters and have a meeting with guy in charge of sua students. he was really nice and i told him about my experience in sapporo with my host family and he encouraged me to go check out the headquartes in goshogawara on my own, that it would be fine, but someone should be contacting me soon. it was crazy going to headquarters because everything surrounding headquarters is just sooooo sgi! flags all in the windows and shops everywhere! went into one shop and they were all excited when i told them i was from sua.

after that, yumi took me to shinjuku to buy a camera! yay!! then we met up with all the other sua students for a mini-reunion. had some izakaya food, talked, and had a good time. kind of headed home a little early, but it was really nice seeing everyone!! felt all nastalgic and stuff!!

trip home wasnt as enjoyable because it wasnt a night bus. the seats were much smaller and my ass barely fit and had to sit next to someone else so couldnt really stretch out or anything. but it was pretty scenery, got to sleep, and read some, so not too bad.

then back to real life today. had a much better elementary school visit (same school as my first elementary school visit that didnt go as well). the kids were hanging all over me and once classes were done at around 1 they let me go home! sweet!

and now, what uve all been waiting for ... pictures from the weekend!! (yeah, look above, still havent quite figured out how to post them within the written blog, maybe i should look for a different site to host the pictures ... any recommendations?)
