and guess what? it's a month early (i checked last year's blog) but the birds are back and the snow is pretty much melted. i didnt even need to turn on my heater yesterday when i got home from work!
yesterday i had my last lesson with the 3rd years to one of my junior high schools. this is the school that i pretty much show up, they tell me what they want me to do, and then i go home. at first i didn't like it because i felt they weren't utilizing me as much as they could. but u know what? it's turned into one of my favorite schools! the kids here are great and the teachers do really well them. i conducted interview tests and they have improved soooooo mcuh since the beginning of the year. i was so happy! and then at the end of the class they all gave me letters. i want to share one with you. this kid, at the beginning of the school year didn't do anything during class! he'd either sleep or just to talk to his friends, but never participated in the activities and was just a punk. but the last couple of months, i've been noticing a change and during the last interview test, he actually did pretty good. this was the letter he wrote to me:
Dear Allison,
I remember you always
give me smile
when I nad (supposed to be made) a
mistake you give a
smile to me
I was so glad
to see it
Thank you
I know there's quite a few mistakes, but he tried so hard and you know what he was trying to say. i was really touched by it and all the kids. apparantely a smile goes a long way :)
