rase ra, rase ra, rase rase rase ra!

yup, i lost my voice yelling that at the tops of my lungs for 2 hours while jumping around for about 8 kilometers on friday night dressed in a very strange get up! and as you could only guess, it was great fun!! went into aomori on friday and danced around with all the other jets for 2 hours, got all nice and hot and sweaty and then went out afterwards. well actually, on the way back, i saw anne and that supervisor dude (read my previous posts in case you don't know who i'm talking about) and he apologized for giving me the wrong address and gave me the right one. hmmm, should i go for it? maybe ...
well after that, went out to eat with one group of jets, then met up with another group (all the newbies that i connected with in tokyo) at a bar and then karaoke afterwards. well singing at karaoke definately did not help my voice (nor did it help others ears i imagine), but it was still fun. ended up going back to a jets house and crashed there with about 8 other jets at like 4 in the morning. a few of us went straigt to sleep while some of the others went out to get more drinks and i guess they got lost for like 3 hours or something, so when they came back (at 6) they were hooting and hollaring like crazy. i think i was so tired i didnt really care though. the irish man was crazy funny though! the irish definately like their drink!
the next day i was spared the hangover that everyone else got (i seem to be lucky in that department, don't ever really get them). headed back to goshogawara expecting to watch tachi nebuta (an even crazier festival i guess). hung out with my friend eric for a few hours but then decided to go home because i was soooooo tired!!!
and then the next day, duh duh duh!!!! i tried driving in japan on sunday!! ahh! hehe ... eric bought a car, but doesn't have his international driver's license yet (i do) and our supervisor told him not to drive until he has it, but the guy he was buying the car from was leaving for the airport yesterday, so he asked me to drive it back to his place. in total, i drove for about 2 hours or so and i did a really good job, i must say! i thought i was going to have a heck of a time adjusting to driving in japan, but once i got behind the wheel it actually felt comfortable and eric even said that i drove as if i'd been driving in japan forever.
some funny things that we saw:
-a man peeing on the side of the rode, seems to happen quite often, we've coined it the "arkansas of japan"
-a pony in the back of a truck, but not just any truck. those really small tiny japanese trucks where the bed of the truck just looks like a piece of plyboard. the pony was tied up somehow, and just chilling as the truck drove on by. i could only imagine it saying "what in the hell are these guys doing putting me in the back of a truck with no guard rails? man they are crazy!! where's my apple?" or something along those lines :P
well folks, i imagine there was some other stuff i wanted to blog about, but i've drawn a blank at the moment.
