it's a fork!

so at school we had spaghetti for lunch, which in itself is a little unusual. but, apparently the most unusual part of the lunch was the fork! all the teachers were utterly surprised at seeing a fork handed out for lunch, they didn't even know the school had forks! i found this quite humorous of course, i mean ... come on, it's a fork!

well im off to sapporo tomorrow for a week and it seems like it wont be enough time because of how many people i want to meet up with. but, none-the-less i'm very much looking forward to it. it will be colder but the houses will be warmer AND i wont have to shovel! however, this does mean that when i do come back i will probably come back to white lot that once was my house unable to see my car or door! oye! talk about getting my exercise when i come back, eh?

have i talked about the roads yet? i've gotten quite used to driving in the snow here, but one thing i dont understand is the conditions of the roads. imagine someone came along with an ice pick and picked at the most random spots in the snow on the road, making it extremely bumpy and ridgy. ur car gets banged all over the place, u need 4wheel drive just to handle that crap! its crazy!

good news ... the guy came and installed the water heater arround my pipes so hopefully they will no longer freeze. there was one or two nights there where i really wanted to move, but im slowly learning the tricks of keeping my house warm and its becoming much more comfortable, so i think ill stick around!

arighty, well i have to catch a train to aomori so i can wake up early and catch another one to sapporo! love you all!! update as soon as i can, i promise!

How you doing?

Well, glad to see that you're going to be enjoying some R&R in Sapporo.

The weather in Arizona has been beautiful the whole time I've been in this country, but I'm still experiencing the "reverse culture shock" thing on an almost daily basis (ie. yesterday was the movie culture shock where people talk so loud. One ditzy bitch left her phone on [the movie was Munich btw...a movie about the 1972 olympic incident and the revenge killings thereafter] and her group throughout the whole movie would giggle in an annoyingly high pitch).

Anyway, looking forward to meeting up with you and the gang with a couple of drinks-in-hand.

Enjoy the rest of the holidays and see you in the year of the Dog.
